Goodbye to my desktop, which treated me quite well. I hope your travels to the Geek Squad City in KY are gentle to you.
Goodbye to the laptop, traveling with you. Both too young to have had this happen.
Goodbye to the dinosaur, which is just fine, don’t worry, it will just be ‘retired’ since I just don’t need it as my only source of getting online anymore, thanks to an early Christmas gift.
Hello to my early Christmas gift my concerned husband bought me, a new laptop. I can almost not even type it, I am still in absolute shock. It’s beautiful, just as he is, my dear sweet husband, and it’s helping me greatly, a far cry from the dinosaur, it’s nothing short of wonderful. Shock is an understatement.
How??? (Because that was my first question, too.. how?)
Hello to our new Military Star Card hubby got in order to get my early Christmas gift. Oy. At first, I freaked (I won’t lie. We’ve been doing our best to pay off our debts and never use credit). But then it occurred to me, once paid from the insurance policies here on post, it will cover this, so it’ll be paid off with money left over (to help pay down other debt, too), so no worries.
Hello to all of our saved data, still on my hard drive, put into a hard drive case to make it an external hard drive now, safe for me to use with this and most any other computer, so that I may still have access to it and have a place to store things so, should this happen again, I won’t have to worry. Nice!
There have been more the past few days of hellos and goodbyes. It is truly bittersweet, and there are still more to come:
Goodbye to our Christmas tree, who won’t feel any gift-giving love under it this year, as it will sit in our home, empty, while we spend it with my parents.
Hello to my parents and my siblings, along with their children, with whom we will be visiting, staying and probably going crazy for the entire stay, as seventy-gazillion people are probably too many under my mom’s roof.
Goodbye to them as we travel to say Hello to my husband’s parents, to drive them crazy while we celebrate the holidays, our anniversary and the New Year, only to turn around and say Goodbye once more.
After that? Goodbye Christmas vacation. Hello back to school. Hello back to crazy hours at work for my husband, leaving me flying mostly solo for the first time since the baby was born.
If by then I haven’t already said Hello to my insanity, you can expect it about right about that time.
What and who are you saying Hello and Goodbye to this season?
